Abnormal Normal is a project to contextualize the abnormal change of the everyday lifestyle during the lockdown in Malaysia. Over the years, people's routines and way of living have been upheaved by the unprecedented changes brought by the pandemics. The way of breathing has changed, the way of living, the way of socializing, and the way of work or study have dramatically changed. From normal to abnormal, and abnormal to the new normal. The nature and the law of things start to be deviated from normal as the way people perceive becomes different when stepping into the new normal. Adapt to change and a new way of living could be suffering as we have to do a lot of sacrifices as well as get used to the abnormal things than before. Sadly, we can't escape from adapting to change. However, it's possible to take on this issue with a positive outlook. This project is to encourage Malaysians to view this issue with a positive lens and approach it in an optimistic way.

The packaging has become the medium to express the message since the "changes happened during lockdown" has been described in a form of items. The designer has explored the textual and visual graphic in order to create the relevant, and playful-looked piece for placing on the packaging to perform the specific subtext tied to the concept it’s representing, associating with text in an interesting tone. Overall, the expression through packaging could spark nuanced conversation, in addition to this, it’s accessible to public understanding about the complex issue in a straightforward manner.
