Pavilion of the Uterus - Efemeral Architecture

PAVILION OF THE UTERUS

The design for the Uterus Pavilion was inspired by the shape of the human uterus. The intention, based on the book "A Ideia de Conforto - Reflexões Sobre o Ambiente Construído", by Aloísio Leoni Schmit, is to recreate the sensation of the first habitation of the human being: the maternal uterus.

The material chosen, Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene, allows the execution of the most diverse formats, and from it we were able to reach the concept with an innovative approach that arouse curiosity.

Since ETFE is translucent and colored, the use of ETFE in red was chosen to represent blood, and how the baby has its first contact with light.

As the material's acoustic properties and the installation's convex geometry are responsible for the muffled sound effect. All these factors are designed to make contact with the individual unconscious possible, generating different stimuli and sensations.

Hope you like it!
