Movies & Grill is a project born from personal interest in 2020.
This project is comprised of a Branding & Style Guide, an Interface Prototype for a website and a UX Research Case Study.
The project consists of a video format available on on-demand video services where pilot episodes of popular TV series or movies are paired with cooking recipes.
These recipes are to be followed while watching the related episode or movie and the timings for the cooking are given by the occurrance of events on-screen (i.e. a dish may be ready when a certain character appears on screen or a particular action is completed).
A UI Style Guide "GoodSoupUI" was made to inform design decisions regarding the interfaces.
From this UI Style Guide the first prototypes of the web interfaces were born.
Different versions for the same two interfaces, the first two are more focused on branding, the latter more focused on accessibility and legibility.
A phase of UX Research was conducted after the birth of the first concept in order to validate the idea. This process is better explored in the Case Study, but it lead to some changes from the original idea.
During the UX Research phase of the project results seemed to show a preference towards a website or some alternatives (such as an app or a browser plugin) that allows the user to customize their experience by providing both a selection of recipes paired to chosen episodes of series and a way to choose both the series and the recipe.
