World Happiness

The first happiness data I remember being exposed to was a statistic about the relationship between happiness and income. It described how happiness increases with income only up to a household income of about $70,000. I was both fascinated and impacted by this statistic as it caused me to consider what our priorities should be in the pursuit of happiness.

It was probably around the same time that I first stumbled across happiness rankings by country. As I've developed competency in data analysis and data visualization, world happiness data has remained a special interest of mine. This view focuses on a high-level look at country rankings and the trends that emerge when we group the countries into regions.
This project was inspired by Diana Estefania Rubio's course on Domestika. Thank you to Diana for the course and for teaching how to create data visualizations from scratch in Illustrator.
