Overview

Ontellus aimed to improve its online records retrieval service, MyOntellus™, by enhancing the Smart Locator tool. The goal was to make the platform even more efficient, user-friendly, and secure, addressing the needs of custodians, insurance carriers, legal firms, and self-insured corporations.

Responsibilities
As the lead product designer/researcher, my responsibilities included:

User Research: Conducting in-depth user research to understand the pain points, needs, and expectations of Ontellus customers when using the Smart Locator tool.

Feature Ideation: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ideate and propose new features for the Smart Locator tool.

Information Architecture: Improving the information architecture, ensuring a logical and streamlined flow for users to request records, view status updates, download records, and upload/share documents.

Prototyping and Iteration: Developing interactive prototypes to visualize the proposed enhancements and conducting iterative testing to gather user feedback for refinement.

Usability Testing: Conducting usability testing sessions to ensure that the new features are intuitive, user-friendly, and meet the diverse needs of Ontellus customers.

Visual Design: Creating a visually cohesive and appealing design for the Smart Locator tool, aligning with Ontellus brand guidelines while maintaining simplicity and clarity.
