The bird is made to scale, and painstakingly handcrafted from silver and copper as base. Vintage watch parts are individually cleaned, polished, and set to construct the body and head. Each of the dozens of parts is carefully chosen as per the anatomy and body shape of the bird- a process that is extremely detailed and time-consuming. The wings and tail is made from beetle wings, each feather measured, cut, shaped, and attached one after another. Again, a very time-consuming process that takes immense focus and skill. Because the process itself is completely unforgiving. So, after many many hours of planning, design, trials, and toil, I present these little birds.
