Mors vitae initium

This Illustration is inspired by the latin locution "memento mori"
I wanted to illustrate in a poetic way that the death is not a finality in itself, and that in death reborn and beauty can be found.
A part of my inspiration comes from the Baroque period, during which the ostentation and death were specific recurring themes. In the seventeenth century, the term is pejorative because it describes all that is bizarre, out standards...barroco was originally the name given to pearls of imperfect form.
I think this is fascinating and i like to play on this significations and symbols, to draw pictures that embrace gloomy/esoteric and aestheticism.
