My first step was to quickly jot down all the points that comes to my mind while thinking about this startup.The mind mapping looked like this.
Then came the iteration phase. I believe one should make plenty of iterations and not remain confined to a particular idea. This brings out the best results.
As evident from the above photos, my aim was to combine both the elements - shutter and diary into one entity. The final logo looked like this.
