O briefing pretendia que fosse escolhido um artista na área das artes visuais para pesquisa e fosse posteriormente realizado um layout da embalagem de uma edição especial de alguma bebida, baseada na sua obra e personalidade.
A artista que escolhi foi a Rosana Paulina. A sua arte destaca-se pelo seu ativismo sobre a posição da mulher negra na sociedade, transmitido nas suas obras os diferentes tipos de violência que este grupo passa, recorrente do racismo e das marcas que a escravidão deixou no povo.
Ao pensar numa bebida que fizesse sentido com a artista escolhida e com o que ela aborda decidi que irei realizar uma garrafa de aguardente de cana de açúcar, a chamada cachaça no Brasil e grogue em alguns países em África. Esta é uma bebida que foi fruto do trabalho árduo dos escravos e eventualmente pelo facto das bebidas europeias começarem a estar em altas as bebidas nacionais acabaram por ficar sem valor tornando-se assim a cachaça uma bebida da comunidade pobre e principalmente negra da época. Fui buscar os elementos que mais vi representados nas obras de Rosanna Paulina: a arte sobre o pano, imagens a preto e branco, tipografia vermelha e desgastada, e as linhas entrelaçadas. Usei a imagem de uma mulher negra como uma representação frontal de todos os nossos antepassados, e usei elementos como a trança por toda a carga histórica que carrega, chegando assim a este resultado final.

The briefing intended that an artist in the field of visual arts be chosen for research and inspiration for a layout of the packaging of a special edition drink, based on his work and personality.
The artist I chose was Rosana Paulina. Her art stands out for her activism on the position of black women in society, conveying in her works the different types of violence that this group goes through, recurring racism and the marks that slavery left on the people.
When thinking about a drink that would make sense with the chosen artist and with what she approaches, I decided that I will make a bottle of sugar cane brandy, the so-called cachaça in Brazil and grog in some countries in Africa. This is a drink that was the result of the hard work of the slaves and eventually, due to the fact that European drinks started to be on the rise, national drinks ended up being worthless, therefore making cachaça a drink of the poor and mainly black community of the time. I went looking for the elements I saw most represented in Rosanna Paulina's works: art on cloth, black and white images, red and worn typography, and intertwined lines. I used the image of a black woman as a frontal representation of all our ancestors, and I used elements such as the braid for all the historical burden it carries, reaching this final result.
