Welcome to the town of gloomy Partridge Hills. It can be described as a town of small people with big hearts and even bigger secrets. I created these characters as another extension of the world of,
Strawberry Ducks™.
"Jermaine, Carla, and the Miracle Babies."
Time stood still the day Jermaine met Carla between 3rd & 4th period at Partridge Hills High. Since that day, the two have been inseparable and have been a bright light in the gloomy town, according to Pam---who also had a comet crash and burn in her field late one night. That same night, Carla discovered she was pregnant and gave a miracle birth to two healthy, fully formed twin babies. No doctor could explain such a miracle, and the town press was all over the matter. Some think it’s a folks tale; others believe something from the Drausenlooper plant contaminated Jermaine. Whatever the case, it is no surprise that something is going on in gloomy Partridge Hills.
"Sunny the Optimist."
Adopted by his parents at 13 months, Sunny has always lived life on the bright side. The only child of Pickle and Siracusa, he's moved 17 times in the last 15 years. He enjoys bowling, smiling, giving lots of hugs and advice; and he's known for his height and wit. There’s only one record of him being sad and that was when he was cut from the basketball team—it wasn’t pretty. Sunny and his family moved to the neighborhood last summer. He was met with much opposition and crassness regarding his joyful countenance, that he had a hard time making friends. One day he went for a walk to the local park and met, Murphy, a friendship that would change the trajectory of his life in gloomy Partridge Hills.
"Murphy Hayden Drausenlooper"
Born and raised in Partridge Hills, Murph is the last of 4 children of Marcephius and Darcacia and is in the 8th generation of Drausenloopers to become mayor of PH. Murph was a very lively child until the age of 6 when his 3 older brothers locked him in the attic for 8 or lore hours each day. Murphy never told a soul and that summer was dubbed the summer of silence. His newly introverted nature forced him to create a world within his own room, full of color, toys, gadgets and gizmos. You can say he’s and inventor or modern day Einstein. But no one knows except Aero, the hypochondriac. While collecting rocks at the park one day, Murph ran into Sunny and the two have been friends ever since.
”The Padgette Twins”
The Padgett Twins, Ella and Janae, are always up to something. Daughters of Rufus and Monica the social darlings have found reality to be quite dull and have thus forged on the path of quiet yet calculated chaos. Let’s hope Zoe never gets wind of their happenings—then again, maybe she already has?
"Sarah, Sarah"
No one knows a lot about Sarah except that she is very independent and wise for her age. With her parents living abroad and a nanny dropping by occasionally, Sarah has maintained her mystery by staying out of the way. Some speculate she’s a French runaway, primarily due to her accent and tobacco habit and nothing else. She used to pray every night to be a butterfly to fly far away until Sunny came to town. Since then, she’s devoted her time to calculating random run-ins with small talk. Coincidentally, she too has an admirer; only he lurks in the shadows. Thankfully, her neighbor, Felipe, has run out of sleep meds and looks to the moon for refuge.
"Zoe Hill"
Zoe Hill is the Founder and only reader of the Woodlawn Gazette, well, until yesterday when Bundy Mills said, “it has potential.” She’s dedicated her life to discovering truth and facts like: Abigail Sprinter parking three blocks away from her apartment although she has a wooden leg, the mystery meat in the cafeteria, and her most famous to date—the plethora of cat heads found behind Mr. Al’s restaurant. But that was her younger days. Now she has bigger fish to fry. The whereabouts of Vice Principal Harlow.
