ABOUT THE PROJECT
Pagemaster aims to facilitate children’s reading development by connecting parents with local programs. The process begins with a qualification skill assessment on the online portal and then AI pairs the child with a matching program. The brand speaks to the challenges children face when learning to read through the use of spelling mistakes in the logo on client-facing brand materials. Additionally, the brand uses an increased legibility typeface with ink traps, Neue Machina. The primary brand colour is a bold, expansive black chalkboard with clean white typography, but the brand also utilizes the primary colours of yellow, blue, and coral. These colours were chosen to evoke the idea of chalk, an education tool and foundational toy used for drawing on sidewalks, symbolizing how learning doesn’t stop once you leave the classroom.

The brand incorporates a grid system and secondary logomark with the bookworm brand mascot, representing a space for sharing deeper storytelling with a window, or a gateway, to their favourite books and adventures. The grid is kept very strict and modular but flexible enough to allow text to overlap as a nod to the machine learning working effortlessly behind the scenes of the brand. Additionally, stickers and progress badges feature the window brand motif, allowing children, program leads, and parents to share their achievements.
