Color Studies Project

Background
For this project the objective is to create a new piece of art from a photographers picture to make own and avoid infringement. This project consists of using color, mark making and composition, to create four finals through monochrome, complementary, split complementary , and tetrad to be created on Photoshop.
Original Photo
Original Process
I have selected the banana as my piece of art to remake. I like the simplicity in the banana and the ways you can add contrasting colors throughout the peel and actual banana.
Final Monochrome
Monochrome Process
For this final is was to use monochrome colors through the use of tones, shades, and tints. I like the brown and orange contrast within the final because, I feel it expresses the banana is a true reality. I blended the two orange shades on the actual banana to create contrast for a shadow appearance.
Final Complementary
Complementary Process
For the complementary final I focused on creating speckled designs on the banana and the banana peel to create a real look to it to show the dark spots typically found on a banana. Complementary colors tend to be bold therefore
Split Complementary Final
Split Complementary Process
Using three colors finished with shades, tints and tones to create a loud eye drawing banana, I used the knockout principle to swap the green and yellow colors. The purple is the focal point giving a good contrast to both the yellow and green.
Triad Final
Triad Process
Triad focus on primary colors as seen with the cherry red and blue hues. I left the actual banana as is because I have duplicated the banana peel using as assortment of green tones with contrast of blue blue tones.
Conclusion
Overall, the project focused on tones, tints and shades to create an eye pleasing color scheme while making another work, my own creation. Throughout my usage on Photoshop I had little issues with the actual color matching process, but when it came to adding detail into the banana I feel I did well.
