Community Lexicon: Brochure & Scavenger Hunt
Student Project 2021

Client
The BC Business Improvement Association (BIA) wishes to promote their individual communities to visitors and neighbours, stimulate the economy, and support the community. Promotional activities may include special events and ongoing advertising programs which aim to keep the area in the public's mind as an attractive, pleasant place to shop, to be entertained, to work and to live.

About the Project
I developed a brochure guide that captures an engaging, original and appropriate brand for the Victoria-Fraserview community in Vancouver. The overall concept of the design revolves around a fun and educational scavenger hunt for local, new-coming and visiting families to explore the many parks, businesses and culture in the neighbourhood. Because Victoria-Fraserview was home to Avalon Dairy, the oldest operating dairy farm in British Columbia, I integrated the theme of traditional milk bottles into the design. The entire brochure will be made from recycled and compostable material including a biodegradable cellophane material to create a glass-like texture for the milk bottle on the front and back of the brochure. Material choice for this project ties into the eco-friendly concept that is commonly associated with glass milk bottles.
