At a local brewery, we were challenged to create a 16 0z beer label. The company is known for their creative and illustrative qualities for every label. For mine, I chose to stick to a star wars theme to add to their continuing collection of star wars.
Above is the final label for the beer named, "I love hops I know." This stemmed from the well known saying in Star Wars, "I love you, I know," from the two characters, Princess Leia and Han SOlo. I altered the word, "love," to "hops," to match beer ingredients. I also included hand drawn elements in the background to add hidden star wars details for super fans to find.
The next steps in developing this beer label included the creation of menu logos and tap handles. Below are the logo variations i created as well as a vertical version of the tap handle. I didn't end up going with the vertical version but you will see the final version at the end.
For the final menu logo, I went with the last option, including the millenium falcon, han solo, Princess leia, and a galaxy background. Keeping the background simpler for the logo allowed for better readability for a smaller size. For the tap handle i decided to keep the entire beer logo in it. instead of compressing the background into a vertical landscape, i rearranged the text bubbles to fit within the horizontal landscape better.
As for promoting the beer, i created two different posters. ONe with a specific date for release and another poster that is not specific. I wanted the emphasis for the posters on the design of the can, so I decided to keep the background with the simple galaxy theme that also alluded to star wars and the inclusion of the hand drawn millenium Falcon. I would imagine this would draw viewers in especially star wars fans.
