Rendering of the Drop Felix by Massdrop. (Drop.com), an original design mechanical timepiece released in 2020. I was the product manager, sole designer, and producer for this timepiece. I developed the CAD in Solidworks, and created this render using Keyshot. This is a contemporary interpretation of the classic field watch, with a milspec dial. Subtle sculptural qualities such as a dished dial surface and integrated lugs add a more modern twist to classic principles.

The Drop Felix was produced during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with only a three month loss in schedule in spite of everything. The product was shipped in Sept of 2020 and received positively by our customers. Examples of the final product can be seen below:

Package concept for the Drop Felix. The objective here was to craft a utilitarian and sensible exterior with a nod towards hidden luxury -- this was in keeping with the Felix itself, which offered double dome sapphire and an extraordinary Swiss made automatic movement in an otherwise matter-of-fact aesthetic.
