2019, Unfired Raku, Actual Size

Reaching Hands, consists of two pairs of forearms and hands that are interlinked with each other, emerging and reaching out perpendicular to the surface. The work explores how we, as corporeal identities in relationships, develop mutual motives in conjunction with one another. The work effectively activates and transforms any given material space, object or form with human qualities and imbues them with the sensation of desire, impulse and life. The form is organic and ambiguous and asks the audience to analyse the motivations and intentions of their relationships and group settings, acquiring a new understanding of their own identity and ambitions.
