Communication is a valuable tool that helps us find a commonality within one another. I have always been able to communicate well with others by learning one’s individuality, beliefs, and caliber. This helps me to understand them in the most intimate of ways. The same way I like to get to know people, I like to become acquainted with what I am creating. I believe that I am as good at communicating with my work as I am with individuals. Just as my voice and words are my tools to communicate with others, my hands are my tools to communicate with my medium. Feeling the texture of what I am working with makes me feel more connected to my work. This gives me a sense of intimacy between the project and myself as though nothing can come between us. Working with my hands also makes me feel as if I am in full control of objectifying my vision and feelings to the viewers. I manipulate the medium to be exactly what I want and imagine it to be.
