Cat Tongues (also known as Katzenzungen) are a classic childhood treat in Europe. The box contains milk and dark chocolates in a shape that (roughly) resembles a cat's tongue.
The packaging was designed to convey the relevance and modernity of this retro treat. I tried to emphasise the fun and funky side of the product. When I sketched out the illustrations, my starting point was the chocolate's silly concept, so I made two cat characters with super loooooooong tongues.
No cat was harmed in the making of this packaging. And please don’t give this chocolate to cats. Thanks!
