Trafalgar Square at night

When I was in London last Friday, after just visiting the National Gallery and taking some shots of the water fountains I wanted to take a shot of the roundabout on Trafalgar square as it was dark and there was lots of traffic driving around it. Again I didn't have my tripod with me so I had to create my own, I balanced it on the edge of one of the lions podiums and then propped it up with my phone so I had the correct angle.
I set my camera to the same settings as before (25 second exposure and f.stop 29) and pressed the button. Im pretty happy with the shot as it turned out better than I expected. I have found that when I take shots where lamp posts are included you get a strange star light beam coming from them and I like the effect that they give. Also I the fact that there are several diffrent layers and elements that make up the whole image like the tail lights, the lamp posts, the airplane in the sky and then that each of the buildings are very clear and in focus. I think the finishing touch is that you can see big ben in the background, altogehter the image almost sums up London pretty well with the traffic and the iconic landamarks that are represented in the photograph.
