Daybreak Surf Co. Concept

My company is a surf lifestyle based brand which provides high quality apparel as well as gear. I was inspire to make this company since I wear similar clothing outside of school. Daybreak has multiple meanings to the name, it is simple but works well with the brand. Daybreak is a good time for surfing because of the waves and there’s no lifeguards. The brand is about being laid back and enjoying life, taking a break for the day. I designed my first arch logo with the intent of shirts and other gear. It is my main logo for the brand. Once I finished and had extra time, I thought a simple text logo was necessary so the original logo isn’t overused on the clothing line. I noticed a lot of apparel company's have multiple logos so one isn't overused. I wanted to make a storefront for the brand but the original logo was too much and didn’t fit the storefront, but the text logo fit it perfectly. My last edition was a smaller and the most compact logo. It was the DB initials with the main logos wave and text on it. This compact logo was necessary if I wanted to make an app, or for the Instagram logo and other smaller spaces that look weird with a complex logo. I chose three simple color for my logo which are blue, orange, and an orange/red mix. The colors bounced off each other well and provided a modern smooth style. I took the simple Myridian font and used the direct select tool to make it something unique and fun that fits the brand. I rounded the edges with the direct select tool and made the font into something much more different that fits the brand. My logo incorporates a wave with the rising sun under the waves break to represent the sunrise of the brands name.
