Ramayana Remix Project Journal | Book Design

Ramayana Remix is an interactive performance project that integrates playback theatre, hip-hop theatre and shadow
theatre into a large, main stage production. Using the famous Indian epic 'Ramayana' as a medium, the play unfolds sensitive issues
such as 'exploitation of woman' in a contemporary and engaging manner.

The project required maintaining a journal to record day-to-day activities of the project.
The theme I selected for my personal journal was based on the ramayana character 'Hanuman'
Handmade journal based on the ramayana character 'hanuman'
The character Hanuman is very popularly know for residing Lord Ram and Goddess Sita in his heart and rips it
open to show it to the masses when his reverence and love for them was challeneged.
This concept is used for the cover of the handmade book.
Pulling the sheets sideways(Ripped open chest of hanuman) reveals- Lord Ram and Goddess Sita
Handmade Hanuman gada(mace) as a lock for the book
The popular hanuman tail(Hanuman uses his tail to burn Lanka) as a bookmark for the book.
Handmade Accordion Book
Stiff and Sturdy structure of the book- epitomising Hanuman's character of strength and power
