WINE LABEL CREATION
IDENITY & PACKAGING
To design a visual identity for a winery and two wine labels. Using research
to help develop a fictitious winery. Chose a wine region to base my winery in
and a back story for the winery and first release labels. I was drawn to the Chateau Tanunda that owns and operated the Barossa Wine Train (BTW) to serve all local wineries within the Barossa Valley as a tourism operation. The name of this winery comes from the creek that's 1km down the railway line from the Chateau called 'Tanunda Creek' The BWT ran with former South Australian Railways Bluebird Class railcars, each railcar was named after a native species of bird from Australia. I chose the Superb Fairy Wren as it is a dominantly blue coloured bird like the bluebird trains. So I adopted the idea of using the train as inspiration to help develop an identity for the new winery and labels. With this I called the first release label ‘Bluebird Label’.
