Fashion design competition winning project.
With the specific instructions the 3 limited edition Fall outfits had to be developed.
Each outfit had to include:
- T-shirt/Shirt
- Pants: Slack/Denim
- Jacket
-Sneaker/Casual Footwear
-Accessory
Other design requirements:
- Unique and modern designs coupled with trending styles in international fashion.
- Provide detailed mood/inspiration board.
- Provide coloured illustrations and technical sketches in black and white.
- Must show work and ideation process.
- Production cost should be taken into consideration.
Other specific instructions such as fabric/materials and a price per piece have been given as well.
The whole collection is inspired by the fashion period of the '80s by their style and modern architecture. They are combining those two, creating a look of uncertain age.
I took inspiration from all sources, from the natural world to fine art. But perhaps there is no better synergy than that between fashion and architects. While architecture gives us the spaces we work and live in, its design, shapes and colours can inspire unique fashion collections. My main goal was to represent a uniqueness of an outfit inspired by one specific building in a particular city. Based on my research, mood board, sketches, I picked three locations:
Puteaux, France: Grande Arche de la Defense (coordinates 48° 53' 28.6404'' N2° 14' 16.404'' E)
Salisbury, England: Salisbury Cathedral (coordinates 51° 3' 57.42'' N1° 47' 44.304'' W)
New York City, USA: Vessel (40° 45' 13.356'' N74° 0' 6.48'' W )
I am very impressed by these buildings and wanted to demonstrate the beauty architects work through fashion. The key idea is to have coordinates on every outfit that represents the building that inspired it!
All garments are casual and easily interchangeable within the collection.
