Just as Matisse sought to "transcend the confines of easel painting" that led to his iconic cut-outs, I too often seek to shift from the digital realm of design to something more tangible. I designed both sets of fabric and the shapes of the pillows as a modern take on Matisse's cut-out shapes. While imperfect in nature, the playfulness in color, pattern, and shape of these pillows shine through.
