2021-2022 Photoshop Portfolio, Region Ten

With this being the very start of the year, since we're doing something very basic, I'd have fun and put as many faces on jalapeños as possible.
My second self portrait in which shows how much I've improved since last year with fire being added to the hair on the right in which surprisingly wasn't the hardest part, for this time in the year I was struggling separating me and most of my hair from the background of the picture.
These next 3 compositions were all for the colour wheel project and this one took me about a day and a half to figure out what idea I was going for, but in the end I'm glad with how I decided to put the secondary colours in there. I also decided to go with shape on this one because it just felt right.
#2 of the Colour Wheel Project was this vase, and it was supposed to be complimentary colours, but i wasn't sure how I wanted it to look. I found that this didn't fully fit my expectations.
#3 of the Colour Wheel Project was extremely difficult and I found my self not having enough time to polish it and make it look nicer, I went with the abstract look thinking of doing something cool. This helped me improve in how to use the selection tools more efficiently, but in the end never really came out as I imaged them. I mainly look back at this one for how much it helped me get a better technique for selections.
All These 4 images (Including the one above) were supposed to be part of a surrlyrical, but it seems I was more focused on memes than music through out the couple weeks we had to do this project and every picture is dedicated to a year for example. (The one above is 2020)
Surrlyrical #2 Was one of the most difficult ones out of the 4, because I separated the signs and buildings from the rest of the image. (This one was dedicated to 2019)
Surrlyrical #3 was the most fun out of all of them because the year was dedicated to 2018, and 2018 was a year abundant of funny memes and a year I look back on with envy and delight.
Surrlyrical #4 being the last one of this project was dedicated to 2021. The same year that I made it. i thought as we approached the end of the year I would close it up with the most popular memes that came out, and sit back and laugh at all the funny short-term moments of laughter and joy these ones had brought.
The next 3 are part of The Hybrid Project, which is where we had to make something… rather odd with mixes of organic life and inorganic life. In which this first image is "Welcome to The Internet" a song by Bo Burnham who is an artist/comedian that is about how corrupt the internet is. I loved the song so I decided to add a technological twist and it came out well I'd say, not fully what i had envisioned but it would suffice with Bo Burnham becoming one with the internet by slowly being converted into binary code and drifting away.
With my love of memes, I give you #2 of the Hybrid Project in which is about an old hilarious video where Colonel Cornelius Cornwall does a presentation on corn. Instead this time, he is completely corn.
With my love of  Virtual Reality, at some point I had to do one about Mark Zuckerberg ever since he's changed the game for VR. there have been a lot of memes and jokes about how oddly inhuman he seems in some situations, so people would call him a lizard, a robot, or an alien in which I decided to go with Robot Zucc for this final part.
This was the Typography project in which I had no time to fully bring it up to how I imaged it before the due date, but you can see my intentions and what I was planning to do for the rest of it.
This is the start to the project VST. (Virtual StoryTelling) The one above is representing my childhood. It has a much deeper meaning behind it to my heart but I wont explain much because I want you to to have your own takeaway from it.
In VST #2 I started to get deeper into how I am now and what has been me over the past 2 years, and just like the last one, I have my own takeaway and by the looks of it, you can get a good idea of the story by colours.
I took a big step away from myself and started to make my last one about Bo Burnham's song "All Eyes On Me." (In which just won a grammy a month after I made this)
This was supposed to be a small animation project, but I tried to push myself and make a stop motion animation in which as you can see in the end I definitely couldn't finish the quote. Though I did like the concept.
At the end of this year we were told to refine/remake 3 old projects and with this one is obviously the surrlyrical, or as I prefer it "The Ultimate Surrlyrical." Even though it really wasn't one, but it was and I went with it. I gathered everything I learned throughout the year and tried to make this look as nice as possible compared to the older ones. There are small hidden jokes at the picture if you look close enough, but they are difficult to find at first. This one was fun, but required even more research this one wasn't dedicated to just one year. It was showing all of them.
I knew at some point i'd do Bo Burnham again because I was listening to a lot of his stuff for a while, so in this remake of VST (Virtual Story Telling) I decided to make it all about Inside, His latest special. Each version of him in this piece is representing a song from his special. If you've watched Inside, and remember a bit of it. You can probably point out where a couple are from. Also, the colours reference to #2 VST above where orange blue and grey are located. The song in the bottom left is it's own thing, and doesn't count.
Now with the final remake, I decided to remake what I thought was one of my best pieces of art and that was my second Self Portrait, and I think It turned out pretty well, the selection wasn't as difficult now that I had more experience with selections. I used the Harmonization Neural Filter in this piece. Then with some colour correction, and some hue changes, the colour in the picture came out perfectly as colour was an important part of this project. I will say looking at this, this was probably one of my most favorite projects I've done. The way It came out was really good, but I still feel like there's something more I could've done. I'm not sure what, but I just feel as if there was.
For Region Ten, this would be my last project. My final exam was designing a product design for a brand new product. This was the simple, not animated ad.
This was the Web Banner in which required an animation and since I found out I did an unnecessary amount of work with the design and had to simplify it, I didn't have much time for the animation parts, so I just put in a simple animation for this one an the final one up next. It flashes to get your attention since we focus on flashy lights a lot.
