WORKER BEE BIN
Product design

Back in 2015, the city centre street bins were in desperate need of a makeover and I was asked if I would like to design the new version. My first thoughts were that I didn't want to design a typical council bin; with gold bands top and bottom complete with the towns crest. Instead, I favoured for the bee symbol, which at the time, was more commonly known for it's historical connotations and was relatively unknown to the public. The bee sat centralised on each panel, encompassed by an embossed honeycomb grid.

Some of my early concept visuals and notes are below.
