Editorial
Brief: To explore possibilities in socio-cultural visual identity design and place branding

The outcome is a visual identity of Japan, which serves as a guidebook of seasonal blooming flowers, but from rather unusual view point, which focus on the appreciation of a nature and how each colour stimulate our mood and emotion. Each colour was created by taking away the form of nature until it becomes just the abstract colour that compose them, which represents the passage of time in Japan. My attempt was to create an identity of Japan through environmental experience of nature in colour to convey unique attributes of Japan.

The idea behind this identity is to create a symbol that represents the major colours of blooming flowers in each seasons, while symbolising the national flag of Japan.
Nature in absence of colors to elicit appreciation.
Each colour scheme explains how its specific colour psycologically affect emotion and mood.
