LOGO DESIGN: INTERVIEW AND REVISIONS WITH TEAMMATE
- With another designer, we interviewed each other as part of an assignment, asking about a few of our favorite things based on these categories:
- Movie
- Creature/Animal
- Hobby/Recreational Activity
- Food or Cuisine
- Teammate produced these as their favorites once the interview was concluded:
- Movie: Joker (2019)
- Animal: Red Panda
- Hobby: Video Games
- Food: Sushi
- Our objective was to take these four favorite items, and conceptualize many drafts in order to make a logo representative of one idea, or two of these ideas combined.
PHASE 1: CONCEPTS AND SKETCH
An exploration of ideas along with refinement of these concepts were explored below:
PHASE 2: Final Draft and Vector Logo Refinement
The concepts were reviewed and ultimately, the icon with the sub-label "3 Themes" showed promise. Afterwards, the final concept sketch was selected and refined down to a simpler form, and created via Adobe Illustrator. The images below show a documentation of the initial creation of the logo along with the refinement process. As the form showed promise upon the first digital draft, subtle observations were noted and adjusted to fit a more visually successful icon.
PHASE 3: Logo Presentation
The final presentation shows the Logo downsized to scale by 50%, then 25%. The logo was also reversed with a black background shape in order to show the logo when inverted against darker colors.
