With record high temperatures on the West Coast all summer, we decided to visit the place with the most shade possible! That led us to the forest with the "girthiest" trees in the World (according to the General Sherman tree plaque). After seeing the big red wood trees in Alishan National Forest (Taiwan), we thought we knew what to expect, but these trees were on a different level! Additionally, I was also surprised with the beautiful mountains in the area. In my head, I thought the park would just be a forest of trees, but as we drove through the valley and up the mountains into the park, I was blown away!
