Impact Lab 2: People, Week 6 Design Intensive
My team members and I had a wonderful opportunity to work with Orange Sky Australia on a laundromat solution while still keeping their core initiative of connecting with communities especially those who are experiencing homelessness.
Two days' worth of hard work, research, design iteration, and empathy mapping our final design solution is a laundromat space with optimised community space where people are able to tell their stories and connect with others through word of mouth and art forms all while their laundry is being cleaned.
I've learned so much in just a span of 2 days, the smallest solutions can make a big impact, by simply having someone to talk to and connect while a load of laundry is being done can create a sense of community. Homelessness is a complex problem that doesn't have one solution, but Orange Sky Australia is a great example of a small solution creating big impacts that creates a change.
