Apperture - Mobile App Design
Apperture is an app that helps its user takes unique photo angle just like a professional instantly. Apperture also helps its user in post-production stage by enabling the user to edit photo, find inspiration, and study from tutorials.

This project was developed through 4 stages, namely:
1. Ideation, articulation, and development stage
2. Researching and mapping stage
3. Wireframing stage
4. Prototyping stage

In the first stage, I need to answer “What does my app do?”, “How does it work?”, “Who benefits from it?” and “Why would someone use this app?”

Utilizing mobile apps property -- accessing special device capabilities such as camera -- Apperture aims to help people who wants instant textbook photo angle (e.g influencer or tourist) by combining machine learning algorithm into the mobile camera to recommend the best photo angle. To maximize the photo quality, Apperture allows its user to edit photos from their gallery. Apperture also facilitates user who wants to dive deeper into the photography world by providing photography and photo edit tutorials, although some tutorials are accessible for premium users only.

Next comes the researching and mapping stage. In this stage, other than researching similar apps that already exists, I built content sitemap and interaction sitemap to figure out the scope and structure of the app.

As seen in the interaction sitemap, this stage haven’t included any design decision yet.
The next step is to develop the sitemaps into wireframes. This stage helps figure out the hierarchy of functions of the app. Each wireframes function must have consistency to maintain the flow.
Lastly, comes the fun part. Prototyping stage is where all the design decisions are added. Also, this stage defines how the interactions inside the apps.

For the finish, I tested this app to 5 friends of mine since tests shown that interviewing 5 users will get you the same results as with 50 people, although we should take it with a grain of salt.

This project is supposed to put more focus on the UX part. Hence, for future projects I’d like to add one more stage right before prototyping to define visual direction.
