Series of illustrations for the article about the adventures of Hadji Murad, one of the most famous heroes of the Caucasian War, did not end even after his death.  For more than twenty years, the inhabitants of Dagestan have been trying to return the remains of their warrior to their native land.  But they could not achieve a civilized reburial.  Then, after a century and a half of waiting and hoping, they decided to return the bones of Hadji Murad themselves.
