30 Days / 30 Nights

30 Days / 30 Nights
The concept behind 30 Days / 30 Nights was my fascination with houses - I’m always curious about what a house looks like on the inside. How is the furniture arranged? What colour are the walls? I translated this fascination into the thirty books that make up 30 Days / 30 Nights.

Each book is made of hand-bound tracing paper pages, and is comprised of photos I took houses my neighbourhood, as well as times and colour washes that signfiy the passing hours day turning into night. As the books progress from the 1st to the 30th, the photos begin to disappear and the times become more erratic.
30 Days / 30 Nights is intended to be a multi-sensory experience - the viewer is meant to touch the books and hear the pages. Flipping through each book, the viewer becomes more and more confused about what is happening to the contents of the books. How do you know if there is even anything inside the house if you’ve never looked?
