In my larger piece, Flowers of Hawaii, several of the blooms demanded the spotlight, so I gave them the opportunity to shine individually with a few typography treatments. I gave the hibiscus the popular "Bloom Where You Are Planted" because she is a hardy bloom, found all over and no matter if she is blooming in a lush garden at Iolani Palace in Honolulu or in a hand-me-down pot on a porch in Kings Bay, Georgia, she just needs a bit of sun, a little water, and she'll bloom.
