Another adventure shooting Jaylin and capturing her personality!

With children (especially younger ones) you do not always want just traditional portraits. Frequently traditional portraits are really difficult if not impossible to achieve, which means you get to have fun with them and do personality shoots instead. Yes you will hopefully capture so portrait style images in the process, but generally you end up with photos that really show the personality of the child and are only valuable to the parents.

When looking at some of these images you might ask why would I choose to include them or even offer them to the parent. The answer is simple, the parent sees the image and realizes that is their unique child and that is all the matters. Take Jaylin for example, I have worked with her a few times. I get a few photos that the general public would like, but mostly I get ones that only the parent would like. For her, it is the grumpy faces and the tongues. Now she is getting into screams. This shows the personallity of this little 5 year girl. Next year I might have something completely different, but it captures the memories of her personality right now.

I just love working with children, you never know exactly what you will get. The best part is the younger children have not been programmed yet, so they naturally do the poses you are looking for with out thinking about it.
