2013 marks the 60th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice. Yet Americans (including Korean Americans) know little about this war, hence called the "Forgotten War," even though almost 6 million US soldiers had been sent to Korea. This year's KAFFNY program explored how the reverberations of this war are still felt to this day and how they were explored in the medium of film.

 

The image designed for this festival program displays the two halves of a ticket, presenting two points in time using typography and graphics with reference to film: 1953, the year of the Korean War Armistice, and 2013, 60 years later. The then and the now, the two Koreas, the memories and what lies ahead.
