OSU - Department Branding
This project's purpose was the rebranding of an existing department within the university.  The goal of the department is the facilitation of ideas and encourage engagement between the various organizations within Oklahoma State University through a wide range of events.  The concept of the final design resembles a maze with the idea that these organizations will be working together and accomplish a common goal by understanding each other and building a relationship through a complex task.  It was required that I had to maintain the signature OSU orange to keep within the branding guide lines of the university.
Client drafts
The client had proposed a couple ideas which helped in the initial development of the project.  These drafts were designed by Micol Martinelli, an associate of the department.  Her design with the stroke following the silhouette of the initials inspired me to iterate and further develop on.  This is where i got the idea of the maze.
Initial sketches
My initial sketches involved the experimentation of geometric shapes to create the logo and integration of technology motifs.  I also experimented with blending and placement of the initials in the organization's name. My initial sketches were based on the original name of the organization, Digital Humanities Initiative, however the word Digital would be dropped soon after.
Digital Drafts
Iterations
This is where i experimented with type lockups and tweaks to the logo.
Final
The client needed two variations of the logo and type lockup for flexibility of the branding.
