Current
The long-term lack of water resources and economic backwardness in the African region have caused toilets to become a severe infrastructure shortage. Poor sanitation has brought many infectious diseases to residents. Nowadays, People in slums choose to build waterless composting toilets to improve the situation.
The composting toilet is an efficient, environmentally friendly toilet suitable for arid areas with scarce resources, which uses a compost pit to dispose of human waste instead of flushing it away with water. The toilets are built above the compost bin/pit, and people need to pour carbonaceous materials such as grass ash and wood chips into it after each use. After organic decomposition ( compost reaction), the human waste is eventually turned into valuable fertilizer for people to use.

- How can people better store, remove and use the compost?
Design
Modular design
The part where the compost is stored (compost bin) can be taken out separately to move, store, and use. The modular design also simplifies the process of building toilets, enabling residents to install them themselves.
Wet and dry separation
A Separate collection of urine and feces enables better hygiene and effective fertilizer.
Wheels & Rails
Since a full compost bin is so heavy that it cannot be quickly taken out and transported, the use of wheels and rails makes people possible to handle the containers individually.
