IGN is the source for all the latest gaming and entertainment news. Every year, IGN amasses huge amounts content, within a varied amout of categories. This usually poses a challenge to organize, design, and layout all the content. This could be a visual mess. But, this marked a turning-point for design at IGN. In order to clean things up, I relied heavily on typography oriented design, strictly adhering to a carefully mapped grid. From that point on, working for IGN, myself and the other designers have come to love the grid. We've peeled back all the superfluous design layers and web 2.0 chrome, to let the content breath, to let the naturalness of the text ultimately guide the design.
