This pattern project is inspired by my Filipino heritage and where I grew up. I took the shape of the California poppy and developed it into a more rigid geometrical shape. I then paired the shapes together to develop a repetitive pattern resembling a spine. The color palette is bright, yet maintains traditional hues displayed in the fabric patterns.
