Weave Design | Imitation Inlay

Imitation Inlay

Unlike traditional inlay weaving where an extra weft is employed to add color and texture to the background fabrics, here this weave imitates the inlay look by  stacking weft yarns one after the other where the top most is made visible on the desired blocks. The result is thus negative on the rear side of the fabric. Using a supplementary warp for the inlay aids using them in exclusively for blocks needed. Hence the setup requires two set of warp namely the bone warp and binding warp
