In 2020 I got the opportunity to join Gobelins, l'école de l'image and work on the Master of Arts' graduate film 'La Bestia'. The film is directed by Ram Tamez, Marlijn Marlijn Van Nuenen and AIfredo Gerard. I did a variety of work such as cleanup, layout drawing, inbetweening, posing and animating. Here is my animation process of some of the shots I worked on for the film. Ram Tamez was the key animator for certain shots, and overlooked every shot to make sure it's consistent with the style and volumes were correct. Only the work in progress shots were animated by me unless stated in red otherwise. All final coloured shots were comped and coloured by other helpers for the film.
These 3D layouts (all 3D modeled by Marlijn Van Nuenen) are the references I got before I had to trace them into the linework of the film and design additional details as seen in the following slides.
Certain shots only required cloud and trees designs in particular perspectives, which I was given a simple grid for and a design sheet.
