"Strange Incident" Compositing (Visual Effect)

" Strange Incident " Compositing
Here was a individual project for compositing 3D Models with visual effect, color grading, masking and tracking.
The Original Movie Clip
Inspiration
When I heard the topic, I thought the alien and UFO at once. Alien was a hot strange topic from past to now in film industry. Alien was a part of our body memory in strange category.
Research
There were some photos from Prometheus. blue and white were used as major color for deserted and lost atomsphere. The saturation and exposure are relative high in most these film.
Moreover, the ancient artifact like UFO or machines were mostly in black and light-blue in light ray. It gave a sense of mystery and high-technological to suit with the plot.
3D Models
Rendering
I had rendered 4 AOVs such as Beauty, Ambient Occlusion, Specular Direct and Indirect for post-production. Actually, I had tuned glow, mode and color grading.
Camera Tracking
I had tracked scene 1 and 2 only for placing the UFO inside in Syntheyes.
Scene 1 (Left), Scene 2 (Right)
Lighting in Maya Scene
Both scenes were using directional light as sunlight and skydome light for environmental light.
Scene 1 (Left), Scene 2 (Right)
Masking in After Effect

Scene 1
For making the UFO floating around the building, we had to do the mask when the UFO was moving.
Besides, the shadow of reflection was on the building window. We had to do the mask to imitate the edge of the window.
Scene 2
I had to do the shadow of UFO when UFO was coming above the girl. I had to do the mask to represent the ground apart the shadow.
Digital Visual Effect
Blue Bean Light
I used blue and white adjustment layers as the base, adding Fractal Noise, Lens Flare, Masks,  CC particle world and Liquify effect to create the light bean.
Particle Effect
I also used the CC particle world to create the energy absorption effect. I added time reverse and Lens Flare effect to imitate.
Background Replacing
Color Grading
Although I had tuned the Curve (RGB) and color saturation in After Effect, mostly I would do the final tune in Premiere. I had added sound track and tune color grading. The screen was being brighter and blue in overall.
