19 Years Later, 9/11 First Responders Are In Jeopardy

Since September 11, 2001, over 240 NYPD members of the service have lost their lives from illnesses they suffered as a direct result of their work that day and in the weeks and months to follow. Many more are still fighting to this day.

Dave Martinez is a retired New York City Police Department detective. Dave was there on September 11. After a few days, he asked to be transferred back to his previous command, the Emergency Service Unit, to help with the recovery efforts at ground zero. This is his story.
19 Years Later, 9/11 First Responders Are In Jeopardy, is a short from a 9/11 documentary the NYPD is currently producing. The goal is to show the effects that 9/11 took on our members of the service.

This short was utilized externally across our department's social media channels, and internally for the 19th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

The editing, color grading, and type layout was all done in Adobe Premiere.
