Coir or Coconut Fibre is a natural fibre extracted from the husk of coconuts.

There are some pros and cons about this material . Coir has light weight and easy to find . There are some cons in using coir . Firstly, it is a rough material which may cause abrasion the users finger and secondly, it is too soft in form a shape or to support weight .

The reason why I decided to use coir as the material of this project is that coir reminds me about the rattans furniture . Coir and rattan have the similar looks but one is more supportive and one is more weak. The other main reason why I am using coir is because coir is eco friendly.
