Lithophany
Personal project
School work 2020
"Lithophany basically consists of the projection of a light through a semitransparent sheet in which a volume has been modeled. The change in thickness causes the opacity of each part to vary in such a way that the darkest areas of the original images are resolved with a thicker sheet and the lighter ones with less thickness. "
For my lithophany I base myself on the legend of the Koi carp of Japan. In this legend, they tell you how a group of carps after a long journey reach their last waterfall before reaching where they will rest and begin to jump to reach their goal, but at that moment some demons decide to bother them by lengthening the waterfall, denying them the opportunity to rest, due to his inability to jump so much.
Some decide to rest where they are, but others keep fighting and it's at that moment that the carps that manage to overcome this adversity become dragons.
To create the piece, we must put the image that we want to represent in negative and then edit it in the Cure, to achieve the piece we need. Since this will be printed in 3D
