A couple of years ago Red saw La Femme Nikita by Luc Besson and felt deeply connected with it. She loves spy movies and the idea of the femme fatale very much. The femme fatale figure is often portrayed to be sultry, mysterious, and devious as noir movies give women an antagonistic role, that they bring the male protagonists misery and despair. However, in Un Femme Nikita, Besson shows a backstory of the femme fatale, the devious woman was just a naive little girl who had no other ways but to become a spy, an occupation that seems glamourous in movies but actually takes away one’s agency of their life and fate. We want to channel the glamour and vulnerability of the femme fatale, the female spy in this collaboration.
