Bolger Expands Digital with HP Indigo 100K

Bolger Printing, a provider of commercial printing services, has invested in a new HP Indigo 100K Digital Press to expand digital print capacity and support growing demand for high-impact printing applications using personalized data. printing shop near me
The new HP Indigo 100K press is Bolger’s second investment in HP Indigo digital printing in less than two years, following the installation of an HP Indigo 12000 HD Digital Press in 2019. As a result, Bolger is now decommissioning two offset presses with the installation of the 29 inch HP Indigo100K, offering a new benchmark in digital sheetfed productivity with nonstop printing of tens of thousands of B2 duplex sheets every day.
Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bolger is a traditional commercial printer that has rapidly expanded into providing full-service mail and multichannel communications solutions for its audiences using data-driven workflows, including its innovative SmartQ platform for marketing automation.
Bolger serves vertical markets such as healthcare, luxury brands, retail, financial services, education, and non-profits. During the pandemic, Bolger has experienced a big upswing for direct mail communications from national non-profits using high-end print to drive engagement and visibility.
“The investment in the new HP Indigo 100K will support the significant growth in data-driven personalization of print for digital campaigns. We believe digital print will continue to be the growth driver,” said Erik Norman, SVP sales and marketing at Bolger. “We don’t see offset going away, but as a PSP, need to be able to deliver what our clients want in the most economical and sustainable way. Having the right balance of digital and offset capability gives us great flexibility to serve them.”
Since adopting the HP Indigo 12000HD press, Bolger’s digital business services have grown substantially, with the Indigo press reaching capacity. The seven-color HP Indigo 12000 HD will continue to print premium brand color applications, with more of the direct mail moving to the HP Indigo 100K, according to Norman.
Bolger also plans to upgrade its HP Indigo 12000 with the high-value capabilities of the HP Indigo 15K press such as thick substrates up to 24 pt for premium packaging.
The new HP Indigo 100K, the next-generation HP Indigo B2 press designed to handle larger print volumes, will not only support the growing personalized digital applications but will also pick up a lot of work from offset as a result of declining run lengths.
