Rufous Hummingbird

Male Rufous Hummingbird, Delta, British Columbia, Canada

After spending most of the year in their warmer habitats throughout Mexico and along the U.S. Gulf Coast, rufous hummingbirds make a potential 2,000 mile-long migration north to the summer breeding grounds in the Pacific Northwest. Some continue as far north as Alaska, making them the northernmost hummingbird in the world. Photographed in April 2021.
