Typographic Manifesto - Experimental Typeface
This was a student project where we used two typography related essays, one by Beatrice Warde and another by Jeffery Keedy, and arranged them in a way to tell a narrative.  We were also tasked to develop a unique typeface to use in our project.  I designed this particular one on a template I designed mostly out of circular shapes.  The typeface I designed was loosely inspired by French Rococo and Black Letter.
The Layout
The layout of the booklet was inspired by European illuminated manuscripts.  I organized to two essays with Beatrice's essay taking the bulk of the body and Keedy's essay, with the use of my experimental typeface, intruding and injecting itself into the body as if he is attempting to counter Beatrice's arguments.
Final Design of Typeface
To help distinguish typefaces from one another, I added four swashes to my template to give each character better legibility.  The end result helped give the overall look an organic floral flare.
